In celebration of the 30th anniversary of JoJo’s Bizzarre Adventure, the Hirohiko Araki Original Picture Exhibition, JoJo Exhibition in S-city, Morioh Town 2017, finally opened its doors on 12 August 2017 in Sendai, the birthplace of Araki.
The exhibition features 200 colored pictures and manuscripts from over 180 works. In total, there are over 500 items exhibited, which makes it double the size of the exhibition that was held five years ago. One of the highlights is the huge re-print of front covers from the fourth JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure series. The most famous scenes will also be exhibited, which will be exchanged for another batch of scenes on 24 August 2017.
Another thing fans will be excited about is the re-production of the Higashikata residence, just like the one where Josuke is freeloading in part 8 of the series, ‘JoJolion’. Fans will also be given the Morioh newsletter if they come to the exhibition venue. And if you didn’t get one, there is at least an exclusive official exhibition booklet, sold only at the exhibition venue, which you can take home to remember the event forever. It costs 1,500 yen (incl. tax) and covers all the original exhibition items, including the replacements.
Date: Saturday 12 August – Sunday 10 September, 10:00-19:00 (last admission 18:30)
Venue: Sendai mediatheque 6th floor gallery
Admission Fee: Adults – 2,000 yen, High school and under – 1,200 yen
※ Children younger than school-age enter free
※ 24 August the exhibition will be closed to exchange some of the objects
