The live action adaptation of manga ReLife, the heavy hit of the free manga application comico, has revealed more behind-the-scenes pictures featuring the two main characters played Taishi Nakagawa and Yuna Taira, and the handsome guys that have joined the cast, Nakagawa, Mahiro Takasugi, and Yudai Chiba.
The main character of the story is 27-year-old NEET, Arata Kaizaki. After graduation, he started working for a company but left after three months. He wasn’t re-hired anywhere and thus continued to work part-time in a convenience store. Ashamed of himself, he continues to pretend to be working for that company, and wears a suit when he goes out to drink with his friends from university. Suddenly, a strange guy appears before him and asks him: ‘Do you want to re-do your life?’
The mysterious guy, Ryo Yoake, introduced himself as a member of the ‘ReLife Laboratory’, and he chose Arata to test a medicine that makes one look young again. He shall live for one year as a high schooler again. In his desperation, Arata drinks the medicine. That was when the unexpected second youth of a 27-year-old guy starts. During his second try at high school life, he meets Chizuru Hishiro (Yuna Taira), a student with top grades who lacks communication skills, the beautiful and smart Kazuomi Oga (Mahiro Takasugi), who is disappointing in many other areas, and Rena Kariu (Elaiza Ikeda), a sharp-tongued girl who hates to lose. Before they even realize it, they become irreplaceable friends and Arata falls in love and tries to live his life to the fullest…
Taira and Nakagawa are very active filming movies and TV series, while Elaiza Ikeda and Sae Okazaki are rather new in the field. Sonoko Inoue, who also is a fan of the ReLife manga, covered Ketsumeishi’s Sakura to be used as the theme song for this movie. The rap part in the song will be recorded by Nakagawa, which makes people look forward to the song even more.
In the photos, one we can see Nakagawa and Takasugi together, posing with a smile and a peace sign, making them look like best friends even in real life. In another picture we see Nakagawa and Chiba, who warms everybody’s hearts with his looks, showing a pure smile. They are all so cute!
ReLife comes out in Japanese cinemas on Saturday 15 April 2017.
