It has been revealed that CLAMP’s BLOOD-C series will be adapted into a live-action movie titled Ashura Shoujo ~BLOOD-C Ibun~ (Asura Girl ~BLOOD-C Strange Tale~). It will be shown in theatres throughout Japan, including Tokyo Theatre Shinjuku, from early autumn, 2017.
The movie will be directed by Hidetarou Oku, who also directed the stage performance BLOOD-C The LAST MIND. The script will be written by Junichi Fujisaku who has been involved in the series since the first movie. The story will be completely new. According to the flyers, ‘The story takes place in prewar-period Japan under the military government. The bloody battle between the tyrannical Special Higher Police VS the villagers will begin!’
The movie will star Kaede Aono, who played Motoko Kusanagi in the stage play Ghost in the Shell ARISE. The movie features a stellar cast: Ryuunosuke Matsumura, Kanon Miyahara, Arata Furuta, Tooru Tezuka, Youji Tanaka, Ren Yagami, Naoya Goumoto, Eiji Takigawa, Yuuki Tomotsune, and Keisuke Minami.
