Fall 2017 Anime: Official Twitter Hashtags & Pages
The MANGA.TOKYO staff had its share of summer. Now, all we wish is for the hot and humid weather to go away and give its place to the red and cool autumn.
A stage event for Rumiko Takahashi’s Kyokai no Rinne (RIN-NE) was held at AnimeJapan 2017 on 25 March 2017 at Tokyo Big Sight. Guests on stage were Kaito Ishikawa (as Rinne Rokudo), Ryohei Kimura (as Tsubasa Jumonji) and Kappei Yamaguchi (as Sabato Rokudo).
About Season 3, Ishikawa said, ‘There has been a half-year break since the second season, but I am excited to get back to recording. I feel like I am going back into a familiar studio compared to something new.’ He also said that there are many characters that Rinne interacted with during Season 2 and thus became brighter. The comebacks from Sabato especially made Rinne’s character grow.
Next, they talked about the new cast for this season. ‘You were always scared of Sawashiro (as Anette Hitomi Anematsuri)’ Kimura said looking at Ishikawa. He replied, ‘I mean, Sawashiro is really super cool in the serious scenes but even the times she plays around are seriously funny! That’s harsh!’ Even though Sawashiro asked, ‘What kind of style should I say this in?’ Ishikawa said, ‘Even in the beginning, it seemed as if you were there since the first season.’
About Megumi Hayashibara, who worked with Yamaguchi in Ranma 1/2, also based on a manga by Rumiko Takahashi, he said, ‘She is playing with deep emotions. Look forward to the relationship between Otome and Rokudo. I think Hayashibara and I have the same relationship as those two. Because Hayashibara is stronger than I am. [laugh].’ It seemed like he was joking, but everybody is looking forward to seeing the results of their recordings.
The next question was about the work in the recording studio. Yamaguchi said, ‘Kappei is the life of the party. And Kaito-kun is spoiling everyone.’ Ishikawa said, ‘There were people who had known Rumiko-sensei’s works for a long time and then there was me, who knew nothing and could only work as hard as possible. But my senpai all supported me. I was happy to meet such wonderful people.’
They were also asked if their teamwork is connected to the anime, to which Kimura replied, ‘I think it totally is. Because this anime is an important anime.’
There was also a poster signed by all three voice actors that could be won via raffle. Furthermore, on the day the third season starts airing, 8 April 2017, the same three guests from this event (Ishikawa, Kimura, and Yamaguchi) will appear on the Line Live program ‘Let’s watch the first episode of season 3 of Kyoukai no Rinne’ together!’ starting at 17:00. During this program, they will give an audio commentary and line it up with the airing of the first episode.
