The novel Knight’s and Magic by Amazake-no-Hisago will get an anime adaptation in Summer 2017!
Knight’s and Magic is a fantasy novel series about a robot geek who lands in another world where mechas exist and he aims to become a robot pilot who is also a knight. The series has been publishing since 2013 under Shufunotomo’s Hero Bunko and has sold over 500,000 volumes. The novel is also currently being serialized on the novel site Shousetsuka ni narou (Let’s Become Novelists) and received a manga adaptation in Square Enix’s Young Gangan in Fall 2016.
This is the first time that a Hero Bunko novel is being turned into an anime. It is also the celebratory project for the 100th anniversary of Shufunotomo!
The main character, Ernest Echevarria, will be voiced by Rie Takahashi (Pretty Cure), Adeltroot Alter will be voiced by Ayaka Ohashi (Idolmaster Cinderella Girls), and Akidd Alter will be voiced by Shinsuke Sugawara (Flying Witch).
The director will be Yusuke Yamamoto, who also worked on Yama no Susume and Shounen Maid. The series compositor is Michiko Yokote, who also worked on Shirobako. Kenichiro Katsura (Walkure Romanze) is in charge of character designs and the production studio will be 8bit (Rewrite).
A genius programmer and robot otaku ends up reincarnated in another world, where mechas called ‘Silhouette Knight’ that can use swords and magic exist. Being reborn as Ernest Echevarria, he starts to build the perfect mecha that will change the world…
