It has been confirmed that Kazuhiro Fujita’s manga Karakuri Circus will get an anime adaptation!
The manga was published in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday between 1997-2006. It tells the story of the fateful meeting between Masaru Saiga, who inherits a big fortune from his father who has his siblings (from different mothers) hunt him down; Narumi Kato, a young man who fights to protect him with his martial art skills; and Shirogane, a female puppeteer.
The announcement included a teaser visual and the link to the official website. We also have a comment from Fujita, which you can find below.
If you are an aspiring voice actor in Japan, it has also been decided that there would be an audition for the role of Masaru Saiga and amateurs are welcome to take part. Applications are being accepted from today. For details, check the official website of the anime.
‘Finally! Finally! Finally! A Karakuri Circus anime! As the person who wrote it, I have mixed feelings between “YAAAAY!” and “Whaaat? They can’t really do it, can they? Stop joking!”. I hope everything will go smoothly!’
‘”Hihihi, dreams DO come true!” The wishes my heart made are now becoming reality. I am looking forward to seeing Shirogane, Masaru, and the others move and can’t wait to see Narumi’s action scenes!’
