The opening theme for upcoming anime Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san 2 will again be provided by Yuiko Ohara. The song is titled ‘Zero Centimeters’. The news was released along with a teaser visual for the anime, and an anime music video for Ohara’s song ‘Iwanai kedo ne’, which was the opening theme for the first season.
The anime will air in Summer 2019 and is based on amanga of the same name that has so far sold over 6 million copies.
At a certain middle school, a boy named Nishikata is constantly being teased by the girl sitting next to him, Takagi. He is always trying to get back at her, but Takagi manages to take advantage of him every time. In the new teaser visual, we can see Takagi and Nishikata playing with a koi carp flag. The visual is very seasonal as these flags are put up to celebrate Children’s Day on 5 May.
Yuiko Ohara, who also wrote and preformed the opening for the first season of the anime, left a comment saying, ‘We get to see Takagi in anime form once again! I’m just really excited as a fan of the series.’ She also mentioned that she wrote the song ‘Zero Centimeters’ with ‘the refreshing feeling of running through the summer season.’ The new single will be released on CD on 17 July 2019.
Additionally, a full-length anime music video has been released featuring the first opening theme ‘Iwanai kedo ne’. As it shows us various scenes from the first season, it is a must-watch before the second season goes on air.
