Kanae Hazuki’s Say ‘I Love You’ (Sukitte Ii na yo) is coming to an end with the September issue of Kodansha’s Dessert, coming out on 24 July 2017.
The manga has been following the love story between Mei Tachibana, who spent six years of her life without having friends or a boyfriend, and the coolest boy from school called Yamato Kurosawa. It started serialization in April 2004 and got an anime adaptation in 2012 with a live action movie following in 2014. The last volume, volume 18, will come out on 13 September 2017.
The title picture will be a colored Say ‘I Love You’ Completion Celebration Special with comments from Ai Kayano, Takahiro Sakurai, Haruna Kawaguchi, Sota Fukushi, and other staff and cast members who were involved in the anime or live action. In addition, the November issue of Dessert (release date: 23 September) plans to give away as a thank you for the support a manga storage box to fans who bought all the volumes of the manga and can show the receipt.
This issue of Dessert will also be marking their 20-year anniversary, for which they will give away through a lottery mini illustrated cards made by a series of authors. It will also include a CD called 24-jikan mune kyun meizerif Roudoku CD by Tatsuhisa Suzuki, who was involved in many drama CDs for Dessert.
Furthermore Renjuro Kindaichi’s and ImoUto’s new short series Moment ~Noroi no Kasa~ starts in this issue. It tells the story of the very regular Mayu who doesn’t like Sagami-kun, a classmate who has excellent grades. But one day, on a rainy day she is on her way home and he calls out for her…
Finally, this issue of Dessert also includes a dialog between Saori Hayami and Mamoru Miyano who are voicing Benio Hanamura and Shinobu Ijuin in the upcoming Haikara-san ga Tooru anime movie.
