There are only a couple of days left (Sunday 28 July 2019 20:00 JST) until the broadcast of the final two episodes of Golden Wind! On this special occasion we have a final episode post-recording interview with each of the main cast members and a commemorative photo of them all together, taken after the recording was finished.
Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind has been a part of our weekly reviews ever since the series started – be sure to check them out!
Q. Please tell us your thoughts now that all the episodes have been recorded.
Although it seemed so long, these three cour have flashed by in the blink of an eye. Of course, I do have sad feelings about it. I want to play Giorno more! But more than that, I feel a strong sense of achievement.
Q. Is there anything that has stuck in your mind from either your experience in the studio or from the story itself?
There’s so much it’s really hard to choose just one scene, but as Giorno it has to be the fight with Chocolata! I did my best with the muda rush! I counted them! [laugh]
Q. What kind of experience was this role for you personally?
In the world of Jojo I once again could make many new experiences, this time with Giorno. The will to succeed, the respect for your comrades, and the resolve of those left behind. It was without a doubt a Gold Experience.
Q. Please give us a message for all the viewers looking forward to the upcoming broadcast of episodes 38 & 39.
It was only thanks to everyone’s support that we were able to come this far. Soon the journey will come to an end. Please watch Giorno and the gang’s journey until the very end! Thank you so much!
Q. Please tell us your thoughts now that all the episodes have been recorded.
Although the story does not continue much further than this, it’s been a year since we started the recording sessions. We’ve accomplished so much but I feel some sadness about it ending, too.
Q. Is there anything that has stuck in your mind from either your experience in the studio or from the story itself?
I felt a little nervous about the ‘Ariari’ voice line. Using the original manga as the most important point of reference, I found that it was really difficult to put passion into the lines while at the same time trying to pay attention and count the number of times I was saying ‘Ariari’.
I was conflicted about how to decide whether the ‘Ariari’ was coming from Bucciarati or from Sticky Fingers, so in the end I went with something between the two. When we had meetings with the other department members, I would talk about how difficult it is to get the number of ‘Ariari’ right compared to the original, and they said to me, ‘You’re going that far to make it match up? That’s amazing!’, and I realized this hardship was something that only our department had to deal with. [laugh]
Q. What kind of experience was this role for you personally?
This past year really has been a Gold Experience for me. It has become such a glorious memory, and when I was watching the broadcasts I really enjoyed seeing the spirit of the animators and the superbness of the directing. Even though I perform in the show, I could really enjoy it from a viewer’s perspective too. A treat twice a week! [laugh]
Q. Please give us a message for all the viewers looking forward to the upcoming broadcast of episodes 38 & 39.
It’s coming to you a little late, but I am sure everyone will be satisfied with the quality of this broadcast. Well, I’m sure I don’t need to say it since everyone who has been following the story up until this point will know what I mean, but… Bucciarati’s final words will be in this episode. Please look forward to the story of ‘Jojo’, which will surely continue! Arrivederci!!
Q. Please tell us your thoughts now that all the episodes have been recorded.
My chest is full of the sad feeling that it’s come to an end. I want to once again express my gratitude for letting me experience the joy of living in the world of Jojo. It was so much fun!
Q. Is there anything that has stuck in your mind from either your experience in the studio or from the story itself?
In any case, it’s that heat. The heat that fills every scene, a heat that makes my heart resonate! Heat enough to burn! When it was my turn to play my part, I could feel the resolve of the other cast members.
Q. What kind of experience was this role for you personally?
It was unmistakably a Gold Experience. This is a series I have read and loved for many, many years. Thanks to all the passionate staff who spent so much time working fervently to make the best Jojo they possibly could, it’s become the treasure of my career.
Q. Please give us a message for all the viewers looking forward to the upcoming broadcast of episodes 38 & 39.
Thank you so much to all the viewers who have watched this far. Don’t miss the last two episodes! Please use legal methods to replay the battles fought by Giorno and co. over and over until the final episode.
Q. Please tell us your thoughts now that all the episodes have been recorded.
Now that it’s over, I really feel like it went by just like that. It’s a lonely feeling, but I also feel content. With the other cast members we really were a team, every week was so much fun.
Q. Is there anything that has stuck in your mind from either your experience in the studio or from the story itself?
During the recordings, I felt that both us voice actors and the characters we were playing were really pushing the limits. Also, I think I have come to love the Italian food even more than I did before. [laugh]
Q. What kind of experience was this role for you personally?
Naturally, it was a Gold Experience!
Q. Please give us a message for all the viewers looking forward to the upcoming broadcast of episodes 38 & 39.
I can’t say too much about it, but we fought til the very end, so I think you will enjoy the episodes a lot! Please give them a watch!
Q. Please tell us your thoughts now that all the episodes have been recorded..
It was over in a flash! But looking back, there was so much happening every session.
Q. Is there anything that has stuck in your mind from either your experience in the studio or from the story itself?
There are so many episodes with impressive scenes and lines that it’s hard to choose, but during the scene where he swims after everyone in the canal in Venice I really felt his resolve. I love it.
Q. What kind of experience was this role for you personally?
I’m really happy that a series that is loved by many people my father’s age can continue to be loved even now by a very wide range of people.
Q. Please give us a message for all the viewers looking forward to the upcoming broadcast of episodes 38 & 39.
Please feel the golden experience until the very end. This bouquet is for the team and their resolve.
Q. Please tell us your thoughts now that all the episodes have been recorded.
Fugo unfortunately withdrew from the team midway through the story, but I had fun entering the rich world of Jojo.
Q. Is there anything that has stuck in your mind from either your experience in the studio or from the story itself?
I was so happy that the anime staff added in new, original scenes to Fugo’s backstory. The fact that you see Fugo for a few seconds after Narancia dies really moved me too.
Q. What kind of experience was this role for you personally?
From the moment the staff announced the anime the response was so big, I felt under pressure to make sure I wouldn’t leave anyone disappointed with my performance. I haven’t really encountered that with any other work I’ve had so it was a precious experience to me.
Q. Please give us a message for all the viewers looking forward to the upcoming broadcast of episodes 38 & 39.
We’ve finally reached the Part 5 finale. Please see off Giorno and the others with their final fight! Fugo also appears for the first time in a while! Thank you very much!
Q. Please tell us your thoughts now that all the episodes have been recorded.
Part 5 has always been one of my most favorite parts of Jojo, so now that it’s finally finished…I feel so much sadness. But, the anime’s broadcast isn’t over yet, so I want to make sure we see it until the end!
Q. Is there anything that has stuck in your mind from either your experience in the studio or from the story itself?
It’s got to be the first time we recorded the scene where everybody’s souls and bodies are swapped around – it left such an impression on me. We had to perform that scene while preserving the tension, but we couldn’t stop laughing at how different the characters were in their new bodies.
Q. What kind of experience was this role for you personally?
For me to be able to take part in a piece of work that I love so much was truly a Gold Experience. I felt the pressure of the role but I was supported so much by the courage of Jojo and in the end could push through it. Thank you so much, everyone.
Q. Please give us a message for all the viewers looking forward to the upcoming broadcast of episodes 38 & 39.
It’s just gone by in a flash, the time is almost up until these last two episodes! Giorno and the others have overcome so many hardships to journey together this far. I hope everyone can run towards the end together and look forward to this broadcast.
Q. Please tell us your thoughts now that all the episodes have been recorded.
It has been an honor to once again be able to play the part of Polnareff. While this is Polnareff’s final appearance, from his beginning in Part 3 until now, it truly does feel like it’s been a long, long journey.
Q. Is there anything that has stuck in your mind from either your experience in the studio or from the story itself?
Having Polnareff looking so busted made quite the impact on me. The anime depicts how his body became this way realistically and was able to portray just how strong his sense of will was. I tried to play his part in a such a way that you can’t forget how far he has come.
Q. What kind of experience was this role for you personally?
To be able to perform in such a wonderful piece of work with such beloved characters was a really special experience that even now it’s shocking to me. Polnareff has taken me to so many different places along the way, and has become not just a companion, but something rather indescribable to me.
Q. Please give us a message for all the viewers looking forward to the upcoming broadcast of episodes 38 & 39.
The remaining two episodes hold a grand and heroic battle. I am so happy and grateful to all the fans that have been watching the show with such excitement every week. I, too, as a viewer, will be watching this final broadcast!
