Takashi Miike has taken it in his hands to direct the live action movie Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable, which is based on the highly successful manga of the same name that has sold over 100 million copies. The great cast went to Spain last year from October to December to shoot for the movie. Now, they are close to completion.
Fresh actors were cast for the movie, including some veterans, to create a perfectly balanced world for this Jojo movie. You can find the full cast listed below.
For all the care that was put into this movie, it is getting rewarded by being screened at international film festivals! IThe movie’s world premiere will be at the 17th Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival in Switzerland as a part of the competition. For Kento Yamazaki, it is his first time that a movie starring him is being screened overseas which is why he will attend the festival personally. This will also be his first appearance at a festival. The festival takes place between 30 June – 8 July 2017 and will be shown to movie fans from Europe and all around the world on 2 July 2017. Takashi Miike is planning to participate alongside Kento Yamazaki.
Furthermore, it was decided that the movie would join the competition at Fantasia Film Festival in Montreal, Canada. It is the biggest film festival in North America. It takes place between 13 July – 2 August 2017. This screening is also ahead of the Japanese release.
The overseas festival screenings are a huge bet for a movie that is based on a famous manga. We just have to wait and see what the film buffs have to say about it.
