A new Japanese poster visual for the movie Power Rangers has been released. The movie will start screening in 15 July 2017 in Japan.
The first poster had a different tagline than the English one that read: ‘Why did they receive the power?’ The new poster on the other hand shows a profile view of the five main characters clad in their colored armor. The rangers’ expressions are not visible, but the rising tension of the fight between them and their villainous enemy Rita Repulsa is clearly conveyed. The slogan written on the Japanese version of the poster is the ‘The five of us will overcome’, so we can expect a story depicting the bond between the 5 friends. Behind the rangers we can see the five Zords!
Advanced sale of tickets begins on 15 April 2017. The advanced sale tickets come with a clear file bearing the image from the poster.
The Power Rangers are returning to the country of the show they were based on, the Japanese Kyōryū Sentai Zyuranger, 16th installment in Toei’s Super Sentai franchise. In 1993, the Power Rangers franchise started broadcast in the United States of America with the first series, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. It has since then continued for over twenty years, with Power Rangers Ninja Steel being the latest TV series. The English version has gained attention from Japanese fans due to the localization of the series. The movie will be released in the USA on 24 March and in Japan on 15 July 2017.
