The Japanese light novel series Walking My Second Path in Life is coming to English speaking fans through J-Novel Club! It will be the first novel from Earthstar Entertainment’s Earthstar Novels line that they license.
So far, Walking My Second Path in Life has two volumes in Japan and is ongoing. The first half of the volume is already available in English through the premium club of J-Novel. If you aren’t a member already, you can see a 40-page preview of the book. A full e-book for Volume 1 will go on sale sometime in December 2018.
The series is about a young princess who is getting married off into a terrible situation. To escape her fate, she pretends to be a boy so she could train as a knight. In Japan, people praised the great female protagonist a lot. This power-girl is also the first female protagonist in a series translated by J-Novel Club. We hope for more to come!
A monthly membership at J-Novel Club is $4.50 if you sign up for an annual membership and you can read one new chapter a week from all their 14 ongoing series, including the novels of recent anime like In Another World With My Smartphone and Clockwork Planet.

Synopsis from J-Novel Club
Fie, first princess of Daeman, finds herself isolated and stranded in the foreign Kingdom of Orstoll all by her own – effectively having been wed off as a dowry gift in accessory to her sister, Princesse Fille’s marriage.
Trapped in a small back garden that once used to be a storehouse, Fie lives her days without purpose, and eventually without food – after the only member of her entourage, the chef, resigns.
Just as Fie was about to give in to despair, she finds a pamphlet advertising a squire’s test for the Royal Knights of Orstoll – beginning her journey of friendship, hard work, and guts, along with masquerading as a boy to walk her second path in life.
What will Fie find along the way?
