Animation production company Yaoyorozu announced during their talk event held at Shinjuku Alta Theater in Tokyo on 11 February that Kemurikusa will get an anime adaptation.
Kemurikusa is an anime produced by indie animation group irodori, led by Tatsuki, who also produced the anime Kemono Friends. Kemurikusa was first revealed in 2010 and won the 24th CG Anime Contest two years later. Leaflets including visuals of this anime with ‘TV Anime Hajime’ (Start) as text were distributed at the Comic Market 93, which was held at the end of 2017.
Director Tatsuki, chief animation director Yoshihisa Isa, art director Yukko Shiromizu, and animation producer Yoshitada Fukuhara were guests at the event. Director Tatsuki commented: ‘As reported, we would like to breathe life into Kemurikusa.’ Producer Fukuhara said: ‘We are sorry to have let you wait! This is Yaoyorozu’s new anime. Please support us from now on!’
