Tsunami Nihei (Knights of Sidonia) is currently planning an anime movie for his manga series Blame!. The movie will go online globally via Netflix Original on 20 May 2017. We have all the new info and the character visuals!
The story plays in a dark future, where so-called ‘illegal residents’ are being hunted down and killed. In this world, an enormous multilevel city is expanding without end and that is where the lonely and dangerous adventures of Killy take place. Killy will try to save humanity from the technology that once upon a time got out of hand and is close to having all humans killed.
The director will be Horiyuki Seshita, who produced a new kind of sensational sci-fi battle in Knights of Sidonia, and also created a fast, thrilling suspense movie with Ajin. The production will be handled by Polygon pictures, who also produced Star Wars: Clone Wars and Transformers: Prime.
The creator of the original manga, Tsunami Nihei, will be personally involved in the anime production; he will write the scenario, make the character designs and work on creative directing.
The quality of Polygon’s animation is breathtaking.
