In/Spectre (Kyokou Suiri, Invented Inference) has revealed a new trailer along with additional cast and characters in anticipation of its January 2020 start. Playing in the background of the trailer is the show’s opening theme ‘Mononoke in the Fiction’ by Uso to Chameleon. Check out the trailer down below.
A tall and beautiful police officer. She works in the traffic division of the Makurazaka police department. She used to be in a relationship with Kuro and was even thinking about marriage, but they ended up breaking up due to a certain incident. She came to Makurazaka to find a job, but somehow she can’t forget Kuro. She is scared of the supernatural, and lives her days in unease.
An urban legend which has been recently spreading in Makurazaka. She has no face and is said to be the ghost of the late Karin Nanase. She appears very late at night, wearing an idol outfit and holding a crooked steel beam in one hand. She furiously attacks people with the steel beam. The rumor has even been spreading online and the number of sightings have been rising.
A well-endowed idol. She became popular after appearing in a TV series, but due to certain rumors was forced to take a break from the entertainment world. She was staying at a hotel in Makurazaka out of the eyes of the mass media. Her body was discovered under a steel beam at a construction site near the hotel at the end of January.
A successful detective of the Makurazaka police department. He has the 5th dan in Judo, leads the police department and is well liked by everyone at the station. Recently he has developed an interest for Saki, but it hasn’t progressed anywhere yet. He doesn’t believe in ghosts, but he thinks the rumors about Steel Lady Nanase will lead to a big incident.
In/Spectre is based on a novel by Kyo Shirodaira and subsequent anime adaptation illustrated by Chashiba Katase. It is a mystery which follows Kotoko Iwanaga, who has become the God of Wisdom for supernatural creatures, and Sakuragawa, who is an immortal young man feared even by the supernatural. The novel’s manga adaptation is currently being serialized in Kodansha’s Shonen Magazine R.
Both touched by spirits called yokai, Kotoko and Kuro have gained unique superhuman powers. But to gain her powers Kotoko has given up an eye and a leg, and Kuro’s personal life is in shambles. So when Kotoko suggests they team up to deal with renegades from the spirit world, Kuro doesn’t have many other choices, but Kotoko might just have a few ulterior motives…
