Upcoming anime Imouto Sae Ireba Ii has released a key visual and promotional video. It has also been announced that the series will start airing in Japan on 8 October 2017.
Imouto Sae Ireba Ii (lit. A little sister is all you need) is the tale of young novelist Itsuki Hashima, who only seems to write about younger sisters. This romantic comedy is based on the light novel of the same name which currently has 7 volumes and has sold more than 850,000 copies. Author Yomi Hirasaka also wrote Haganai: Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai, which was adapted into anime in 2011 and 2013. The anime adaptation of Imouto Sae Ireba seems to be generating as much excitement as its predecessor.
In the new visual, we can see the main character walking across a zebra crossing. In the blue sky, we can see the text ‘Fun days. However, something is missing.’ The image perfectly shows off the youthful feeling of the work.
The trailer opens with the line ‘To only have interest in little sisters, you really are a pervert, aren’t you?’ said by Itsuki’s fellow novelist Nayuta Kani. The narration is by ‘little sister idiot’ Itsuki himself, lamenting his lack of a little sister. We also see other characters such as his younger step-brother Chihiro, university student Miyako Shirakawa, and fellow male writer Haruto Fuwa.
In the background, we can hear the opening theme ‘Ashita no Kimi Sae Ireba Ii’ by ChouCho. It really gets us excited for the broadcast this fall.
