The anime adaptation of popular smartphone rhythm game IDOLiSH7will be airing from January 2017. The news was announced during a video at the fan event IDOLiSH7 Fan Thanksgiving Event vol.2 ~Kimi to Motto Ai wo Kataranaito!~ yesterday, 10 September.
Along with the news of the broadcast, the main key visual and a short scene from the first episode were also released. Titular idol group IDOLiSH7’s manager Tsumugi Takanashi, who is unvoiced in the game, will be played by voice actress Satomi Sato. It has also been announced that the first two episodes will be shown at a special screening on 2 November. More details will be announced at a later date.
The fully-voiced ‘rhythm action game’ IDOLiSH7 by Bandai Namco Online follows the player as they aim to get a group of 7 idols to the top of the idol word. The main character designs were done by manga artist Arina Tanemura.

Wataru Hatano (Gaku Yaotome)
This time I was able to participate in the event as a member of TRIGGER. I was able to directly feel the love of so many people for the series and I’m super happy. I hope you can all look forward to what i7 has in store for the future. Us members of TRIGGER in the new chapters [of the in-game story] will have to carefully make progress step by step. Please give us your support. Thank you very much.
Takuya Eguchi (Nagi Rokuya)
I was so happy to hear all your cheers when we performed the song at this event as well as when we showed you the anime scene. We are in the middle of recording for the anime and I want to bring some of this atmosphere to the studio. We are really putting our all into it, so please cheer us on! Thank you so much.
Tsubasa Yonaga (Mitsuki Izumi)
Thank you so very much! The first fan event was also a lot of fun, but this time we managed to top it. i7 really is supported a lot by you guys. I think IDOLiSH7 will be able to power up even more in the future. The royal group TRIGGER, our sempai group Re:vale and also new group ZOOL; I hope that you can follow with your own eyes what happens to us and those rival groups. There are still members who haven’t sang at the fan event so at the next event… if you can cheer us on even more, if you can love i7 even more that I would be so happy! Thank you so much for today.
Yusuke Shirai (Yamato Nikaido)
Thank you! This was so much fun. TRIGGER and the other groups are so cool and charming, and we all get a bit crazy during the recording sessions to the point that we actually get told off. The anime will air in January. I really want it to come soon so we can share the fun with all of you. I hope I can meet you all again at other event. Today became the best party! Thank you very much.
Toshiki Masuda (Iori Izumi)
I’m so glad that we were able to announce the anime air time here and talk about the recording. Regarding the game, we focused on each individual’s charm and made a really great game. However, for the anime we are all together interacting with each other, and we’ve made another great work from scratch. When recording for the first episode, I felt that IDOLiSH7 is making a brand new start. Of course, when I was recording the lines on my own for the game, I was thinking a lot about Iori and who he is. But recording with everybody else in the studio for the anime and being able to interact with each other in character, I was able to realize who the real Iori is. For IDOLiSH7 to have a wonderful new start, I hope you all can lend us your support right until the very end. Thank you very much.
