It has been announced that popular idol anime Idolish7 is to get a second season! The news was announced at the concert Idolish7 1st Live Road to Inifinity, which was held at the Met Life Dome in Saitama on 7 and 8 July 2018.
The three groups that took part in the concert were titular group IDOLiSH7 as well as TRIGGER and re:vale. For those of you who may be unfamiliar with re:vale, it has been confirmed that they will be appearing in the new season of the anime, which will be based on the second chapter of the in-game story. Idolish7 is based on a smartphone rhythm game distributed by Bandai Namco Online. The first chapter of the in-game story was adapted into an anime by TROYCA in Winter 2018, and it has been confirmed that the studio will be returning for Season 2.
In addition to the announcement of the anime came some good news for US fans, as the songs from the franchise have been made available on the US iTunes store! As well as all the previous singles and two albums, it has been confirmed that the new singles will be released on the US iTunes on the same day as the Japanese edition.
It has also been announced that two new CDs will be released. The first CD will be the Idolish7 Collection Album vol.1, which will contain songs from all 3 groups over the course of two discs. It will go on sale on 26 September 2018 for ¥3500 + tax. The first edition will come with a special jacket. The second CD to be announced is re:vale’s first album. Although yet untitled, the album will include songs by Yuki (VA: Shinnosuke Tachibana) and Momo (VA: Soichiro Hoshi). The CD will be released on 5 December 2018 and there will be 3 different editions available.
