Fall 2017 Anime: Official Twitter Hashtags & Pages
The MANGA.TOKYO staff had its share of summer. Now, all we wish is for the hot and humid weather to go away and give its place to the red and cool autumn.
The anime adaptation of Haruko Ichikawa’s Houseki no Kuni (Land of the Lustrous) revealed the first batch of character visuals. This time, we get to see Phos and Cinnabar.
The main character, Phosphophyllite, is a jewel with a fragile body that reflects the fragility of the mineral. The character has beautiful mint-colored hair. Phos has been entrusted with the work of natural history due to the fragility of their body. Cinnabar on the other hand is a jewel with deep red and long hair. Cinnabar has the special ability to create silver venom with their body and has high combat skills. Their relationship deepens when Cinnabar is asked by Phos to help with some work. Furthermore, a nation-wide campaign started at Japan’s Animate! During the campaign period, fans who come in-store will receive one character card at random with a visual of the jewels on it. The campaign will last for 8 weeks or as long as the supply lasts.
