Fans of horror anime can get ready for Junji Ito ‘Collection’. The much anticipated series will start airing on 7 January 2018. A key visual for the series has been revealed, illustrated by director Shinobu Tagashira. On it, we see six of the most famous characters from Junji Ito’s stories: Fuchi (Fashion Model), Tohru Oshikiri (Oshikiri Idan), Tomie (Tomie series), Soichi (Soichi series), Handsome Man at the Crossroads (Shibito no Koiwazurai), and Yuko (Namekuji Shojo). However, the characters in the key visual are not guaranteed to appear in the anime. The creators will not reveal which stories they are going to air until the day of the broadcast to keep the audience excited.
Furthermore, a fan book titled Junji Ito Kenkyuu Horror no Shin’en Kara (Junji Ito Research from the Abyss of Horror) will be released on 7 December 2017! It includes an interview with Ito and unreleased chapters. It will also explore his works from different angles and include many other bonus stuff that fans can enjoy.
Also, the website Sonorama+ is celebrating the anime release by letting fans read Junji Ito manga for free (Japanese only).
