We have new information about the Hollywood live action movie project of Tiger & Bunny. Bandai Namco Pictures and Imagine Entertainment will further partner with Global Road Entertainment and Weed Road Pictures to produce the movie.
The Hollywood live action project started in 2015. Ron Howard is the executive producer and Ellen Shanman writes the screenplay. Producing the movie is Masayuki Ozaki from Bandai Namco Pictures, who also produced the series, and Brian Grazer (Imagine Entertainment), Ron Howard, Erica Huggins, Lynn Harris (Global Road Entertainment), and Akiva Goldsman (Weed Road Pictures). Akiva Goldsman already won an Academy Award together with director Ron Howard for A Beautiful Mind.
Ozaki commented on the movie, ‘I am honored to be able to work on this project together with these reliable partners. I will throw all my heart into the production as to not betray the expectations of the fans and all the other people who have been supporting this project so far.’
Masakazu Katsura is in charge of the original character design and hero design, as the story is an action story where people with special abilities (called NEXT) are protecting the peace of the city. The anime was broadcast in 2011 and has two anime movie adaptations.
After a long journey, we are finally standing on new land. I am honored to be able to work on this project together with these reliable partners. I will throw all my heart into the production as to not betray the expectations of the fans and all the other people who have been supporting this project so far. Please look forward to it.
We are thrilled to partner with Imagine, Bandai Namco, and Weed Road on Tiger & Bunny. Mr. Ozaki and his team’s globally recognized story and beloved characters provide us with the potential to not only produce a feature film that will appeal to the masses but also generate a fully developed franchise across the theatrical, television and digital entertainment spaces.
I am so excited to be able to support Tiger & Bunny in becoming known worldwide by working together with old and new friends.
Ron, Brian, and I are excited to be partnering with Global Road Entertainment and continue our relationship with Lynn Harris and Rob Friedman to bring the live action feature film based on the beloved series Tiger & Bunny to fans and audiences around the world.
