Shou Aimoto, who is known for his works Hokenshitsu no Shinigami and MUDDY has returned with a new series titled Kemono Jihen (lit. Monster Uprising). The first chapter has been published in the January 2017 volume of Shueisha’s Jump SQ, which went on sale on December 2.
Kemono Jihen is about a boy known as Dorota-bou who is avoided by the people who surround him, and Inugami, a detective who specialises in the occult. The story begins with Inugami arriving at the boy’s town to investigate a case where many cattle are dying and their bodies rot in just one night.
This issue will also contain the second half to Nobuhiro Watsuki’s special Rurouni Kenshin – Ibun – Ashitarou Zenka Ari, written to celebrate the 9th anniversary of the magazine. There will also be a reversible poster featuring Ryousuke Takeuchi and Hikaru Miyoshi’s Yuukoku no Moriarty (based on Arthor Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes series) and Saki Hasemi and Kentaro Yabuki’s To LOVE-Ru Darkness.
