An anime song singer Luna Haruna, who sings the ending theme song for the anime series “High School Fleet,” made an appearance at Yokosuka Curry Festival 2016 which was held on 14th and 15th of May. She visited the “Yokosuka Girls’ Marine High School Booth”, a special booth featuring the anime “High School Fleet” which is set in Yokosuka City.
At Yokosuka Girls’ Marine High School Booth, they exhibited special items such as uniforms of the Yokosuka Girls’ Marine High School and 1/7 scale figures. Also, various pre-sale and limited edition anime goods such as tin badges, key rings, and acrylic karabiners were sold. So many fans rushed to get those goods in their hands so that some of them were sold out before noon.
Luna Haruna, a fan of “High School Fleet” herself, grinned holding huge key chains in her hands. As a singer of the ending theme song “Ripple Effect”, what did she think of the anime series?
“This is my first time participating in an anime series with so many girls as characters. I used to watch a lot of animes full of guys. So it was very new to me, and I thought, ‘My eyes are so happy with so many girls in one anime show! I’m so excited!’ I can’t choose my favorite because they are all so cute. But from episode 3 on, my favorite is Maron Yanagiwara! Her appearance is petite and pretty, but she’s very reliable. The gap really blew me away.”
Luna Haruna took pictures with cosplayers at the memorial ship Mikasa. It was a lovely sunny day, and seeing the memorial ship Mikasa and characters together was a dream come true for High School Fleet fans.
Also, she tried “Yokokyo Chicken Curry” made by simmering chicken bones and vegetable for a very long time, prepared by JMSDF Yokosuka Recruit Training Center. In addition, she also tasted “Harukaze Curry” which was offered only the during Yokosuka Curry Festival by Yokosuka Kaigun Curry Honpo/横須賀海軍カレー本舗. Luna was joyous to see Harukaze Curry reproduced just like in the anime show.
“I love curry. This was my first time to attend this kind of event, and comparing the taste was fascinating. I think I did convey the charms of various curries, so I want many people to watch the show from different perspectives,” Luna said looking back at her day at the Yokosuka Curry Festival.
Luna Haruna’s new single and the ending theme song of “High School Fleet”, “Ripple Effect” was released on May 25th. Lyrics, music, and arrangement of the song were done by a popular anime song creator ZAQ who wrote the lyrics and music. There are three versions of the single, First-Production version, Standard version, and Limited Production (Anime) version.
Also, she writes serialized articles for AnimeAnime/ アニメ！アニメ！, entitled “Akiba Lover Girl, Luna Haruna’s Fantasy”/「“アキバ大好き女子”春奈るなの妄想○○」 where she expresses her personal thoughts on various topics from her favorite food and her songs.
Luna Haruna made a guest appearance on TV show “Anige Eleven!/ アニゲー☆イレブン！” aired from 11:30 PM on May 26th (Thu) on BS11. The show will report about the Yokosuka Curry Festival for two weeks.
