As part of the 25th anniversary of Kadokawa’s entertainment brand Dengeki, a TV anime adaptation of the series Hakata Tonkotsu Ramens has been announced.
Hakata Tonkotsu Ramens is a light novel by Chiaki Kisaki with illustrations by Hako Ichiiro. The story takes place in the ward of Hakata in Fukuoka, where it’s said 3% of the population are professional killers. With a cast of unique hired guns, we can take a look into the world of Fukuoka’s underground. The first novel was published in 2014, with the 6th volume due on 25 July.
For those of you saying, ‘why ramen?’, Hakata is famous for tonkotsu ramen (ramen noodles in a pork bone broth) and is often eaten by the series’ main character, Zenji Banba.
