An anime adaptation of Y.A’s original fantasy light novel Hachinantte, Sore wa Nai Deshou! will air in 2020.
Hachinantte, Sore wa Nai Deshou! (The eighth son? That can’t be right!) starts off with an ordinary young trading company employee named Shingo Ichimiya, who one day wakes up to find himself in the body of a five-year-old named Wendelin, the eighth son of a poor aristocratic family. He aims to live an easy life by making money with his magical talent.
Hachinantte, Sore wa Nai Deshou! was first published on the novel publishing website Shousetsuka ni narou. Kadokawa’s MF Books label then started to release the book physically, with 15 volumes released so far. Volume 16 will be released on 25 March 2019. The title is currently also being serialized as a manga on Kadokawa’s digital manga platform ComicWalker, illustrated by Hiroki Kusumoto. It was announced for the first time in 2018 that an anime was in the works.
An official website and Twitter account were recently opened. 8 fans can win Y.A’s signed light novel volume set (1 to 8) by following Hachinantte, Sore wa Nai Deshou!‘s Twitter (@Hachinan_PR) account and retweeting the tweet below.
