A new branch of Strict-G, the fashion brand inspired by the Mobile Suit Gundam franchise will open in Tokyo! Strict-G Tokyo Solamachi Store will open on 17 March. There will be pre-sales of the new design series Strict-G Japan and gifts will be given out to commemorate the store’s opening.
The name Strict-G comes from the word ‘strict’ that means ‘precise, stern, rigorous’ and the letter ‘G’ of ‘RX-78-2 Gundam’ from the anime Mobile Suit Gundam. It is a men’s fashion brand and already has brick-and-mortar stores in Odaiba, Tokyo, and Shizuoka Neopasa. The main target customers are men in their 20’s to 40’s.
On 17 March, a new store will open in Tokyo Solamachi, the commercial facility right beside Tokyo Skytree. To commemorate the opening, the store will release a new design series titled Strict-G Japan, which has a traditional Japanese-like taste. This series will include many fashion items including clothes, tote bags, iPhone cases, and badges.
The Strict-G Japan T-shirts will be pre-sold at Tokyo Solamachi and come in white, black, and grey versions. The T-shirts will have Strict-G Japan’s logo on the left side of the chest. They will each come in four sizes (S, M, L, XL) and will be available for 3,800 yen each excluding tax. All customers who visit the store will receive a gift of the rising-sun-logo sticker. The distribution will be on a first-come-first-served basis, and will end as soon as the stock runs out.
Tokyo Solamachi is one of the most popular shopping spots for tourists because it is close to Tokyo Skytree. It is assumed that the store opening will be a great success, because of increasing numbers of Gundam fans. By the way, the branch store in Odaiba will be closed on 5 April, but is planned to reopen from summer 2017 after its refurbishment.
