It has been announced that Gaku Kuze’s Uramichi Onii-san is getting an anime!
The manga is currently being serialized on pixiv’s webcomic site comic POOL. It takes place on the set of an educational TV programme ‘Maman to Together’ (Together with Mama). The titular character is the show’s physical education presenter (known on the show as an ‘onii-san’ or ‘older brother’) Uramichi Omota. The anime adaptation was announced in the trailer for the 4th and newest manga volume, which will come out on 29 October 2019. The trailer was voiced by a cast of veteran voice actors, and it has been revealed that they will also be voicing these characters in the anime version too. Uramichi will be voiced by Hiroshi Kamiya, and his young colleague, the handsome but not-so-bright Teru Dagaike will be voiced by Miyano Mamoru. The people inside the show’s mascot costumes, Tobikichi Usahara and Mitsuo Kumotani will be voiced by Tomokazu Sugita and Yuichi Nakamura, respectively. The lady who teaches the children and viewers how to sing, Utano Tadano, will be voiced by Nana Mizuki. We also have a comment by the manga’s author, which you can read fully translated below.

Thank you very much! This story was born when thinking of everybody who is struggling through the storm of our modern times. I am sure this will be a fun anime thanks to the carefully considerate staff members and the wonderful and powerful cast. I look forward to seeing all the dancing and singing onii-san of the series.
