The new anime adaptation of Fruits Basket has revealed two new members of the cast and their character visual. The first one is the family doctor, Hatori Soma and Yuki’s older brother, Ayame Soma. Hatori will be voiced by Kazuyuki Okitsu and Ayame by Takahiro Sakurai. The new series will air in April 2019.

More and more cast members of the Soma family are being introduced. This time they are Takahiro Sakurai and Kazuyuki Okitsu. Okitsu’s character Hatori Soma is the same age as Shigure and the private doctor of the Soma family. He also has the ability to erase the memory of anybody who discovers the secret of the Soma family.
Ayame, voiced by Sakurai, is also the same age as Shigure. He is also Yuki’s older brother and seems to always be in high spirits, with a lot of self-confidence.

The series is based on the manga of the same title which was serialized in Hakusensha’s Hana to Yume between 1998-2006 and has sold over 30 million volumes all around the world. In 2001, a TV anime aired with 26 episodes and in 2009 there was a stage play adaptation. Even today, ten years after the series ended, it is still a popular manga. The new anime will cover the full story from the manga.
