Fist of the Blue Sky Re:Genesis Announces Cast, Themes, and More

Some new information about the upcoming Spring 2018 anime Fist of the Blue Sky Re: Genesis has been revealed. We already know that Koichi Yamadera is to play the main character Kenshiro Kasumi, but this time 4 additional cast members have been revealed. Sumire Uesaka is to play Erika Arendt, Takehito Koyasu is to play Liu Fei Yan, Setsuji Sato is to play Yasaka, and last but not least, Yumi Toma is to play Pan Yu Ling. Each character’s introduction and comments from the 4 new cast members have also been published.

AK-69 is in charge of the anime’s opening with ‘Shouten no Hate ni’. The ending theme ‘Inori no Hoshizora’ will be performed by Sumire Uesaka.

Main Character Introduction

Kenshiro Kasumi (VA: Koichi Yamadera)

He is the 62nd successor of the ‘God Fist of the North Star’ (Hokuto Shinken). In Shanghai, he is feared and known as ‘Yan Wang’ (King of Darkness). Kenshiro is extraordinarily strong and has got a big body. He is living a life of endless battles due to him being a successor to the Hokuto Shinken.

Erika Arendt (VA: Sumire Uesaka)

Erika used her photographic memory to memorize ‘The List of Hope’, which is a catalogue of hidden valuable artwork. Her family that was entrusted with the catalog was killed, with Erika as the sole survivor. Under the protection of Liu Fei Yan (Ryu Hien) she has learned how to smile again.

Liu Fei Yan (VA: Takehito Koyasu)

Liu Fei Yan (Ryu Hien) is a student of ‘Kyokujuuji Seiken’ (‘Pole Cross Sacred Fist’) style, which is a style that separated form Hokuto Shinken. His nickname is ‘Si Niao Gui’ (Death Bird Demon). Liu Fei Yan was touched by Erika’s warmth and decided to protect her with his life.

Yasaka (VA: Setsuji Sato)

Yasaka is a descendant of the Yuezhi family, which has been carrying a grudge against the Hokuto for nearly 2,000 years.

Pan Yu Ling (VA: Yumi Toma)

Pan Yu Ling (Han Gyokurei) is Pan Guang Lin’s sister and Kenshiro’s wife. As Pan Guang Lin is her brother, she is following a harsh fate. She becomes the leader of ‘Qing Bang’. Pan Yu Ling is kindhearted and affectionate.

In order to play a mighty ‘Han’ (a man), that has been created by Tetsuo Hara, I do push ups and drink lactate drinks right before standing in front of the microphone. I will train my body to the same level as Yasaka until the end of the anime.
