Evil or Live, one of the late-announcements for this Fall 2017 season, will start airing on 11 October 2017, 1:41 (JST). In the series, young people with internet addiction are sent to an rehabilitation center, and what is waiting for them there is a school life from hell. They engage in a fierce battle to survive in the rehabilitation center.

The series is based on a Chinese comic and will be shown in Japan with a Japanese dub. The cast for the main characters has left some comments. Enjoy them along with the character introductions and the trailer.

Story

In the current youth, a certain disease started to spread among young boys and girls. Loneliness, rebellion, avoiding friends. They obsess over the internet and other electronic devices, unable to avoid them. Experts call this disease ‘net addiction’. There is an rehabilitation center built with the wish to ‘lead young people back on the right path’, but for one of the residents called Hibiki, the facility is more of a prison than a rehabilitation center. Will Hibiki be able to escape his desperate hell, where they do not forgive you for leaving?

Hibiki (17) VA: Shin’ichiro Ueda

The main character of the series. During middle school he was active in the track and field team. But due to a certain event he became a sever net addict and was transferred into the ‘elite rehabilitation school’ for treatment.

‘The whole story of Evil or Live is told through the eyes of Hibiki, so his surprise, fear, excitement, and other emotions will be felt by the viewer and rapidly develop the story. Please look forward to October!’

Shin (17) VA: Koki Uchiyama

He is a mysterious student who receives special treatment at the school. He is the son of a rich family. Hibiki met him at the rooftop of the school. It was Hibiki’s first day at the facility and he tried to jump to his death, when Shin appeared before him and told him about his plan.

‘The series is based on a Chinese manga, so I expect it will be different to the anime that we are used to from Japan and it will carry a different charm. I will do my best to make it a great Japanese version. Please take a look at it!’

Shiori (17) VA: Chika Anzai

She is the student council president of the rehabilitation school. She was in the same middle school as Hibiki. Back then she was a gentle and calm child, but now she has a cold personality.

‘Hello, I am Chika Anzai and will voice Shiori. The work in the studio is like a new challenge and as an entertainer I am enjoying it. But Shiori is facing many worries and suffers a lot, lives only for her goal. So please look forward to how she will turn out, as I am looking forward to it as well.’
