On December 7, voice actress Yurika Kubo (Hanayo Koizumi in Love Live!) held an event for the release of her third single, Arigatou No Jikan (lit. Time of Thankfulness) in Gamers Akihabara Flagship Store.
Only people who preordered the CD were allowed to join the event, in which Kubo held a meet-and-greet. She also gave away clear A5 folders with images based on the settings features in the music video.
Kubo, who wore a black dress with eye-catching embroidery inspired by traditional central Asian fashion, expressed her thanks to her fans and shared the story behind the event. She said that ‘there are few opportunities for me to say thank you to everybody in person like this, so I’m very happy I can say it now.’
The event started out slowly, and she also described how she felt about this: ‘I was worried that no fans would show up. When I started talking, I was relieved that you responded to me so well.’ She was in character, nicknamed Shikako, as she spoke.
During the event, fans could talk personally with Kubo while picking up the promotional folder, even though the time was limited- one female fan was even moved to tears.
During the upcoming Kubo Yurika Christmas Event 2016 at EX THEATRE in Roppongi on December 25, Kubo will sing a karaoke song chosen by the fans. Fans can vote on Twitter in the days leading up to the event with the hashtag #シカコのクリスマス2016 (Shikako’s Christmas 2016).
You can apply for priority tickets for the Christmas event with the serial number bundled with Arigatou No Jikan. The applications close on December 11.
