To celebrate 2017, the year of the Rooster according to the Chinese zodiac, EVANGELION STORE TOKYO-01 and Hakone Yumoto Eva-Ya will hold a festival called ‘2017 Bird Year (Pen Pen) Fair’ featuring Pen Pen, the penguin character from Rebuild of Evangelion, as the main mascot!

EVANGELION STORE has revealed an illustration of Pen Pen being held by Rei Ayanami who wears a kimono to commemorate the year of the Rooster. A cardboard cut-out of this illustration will be displayed in the stores, and those who make purchases over 1000 yen will receive a special postcard as a gift. There is only a limited number of the postcards, so you may want to check with the stores for more information.

On top of this, new items will be sold during the fair. These include clear file folders with the special illustration, ballpoint pens named ‘Pen Pen pen’, and beer mugs with the NERV logo.
