Popular 2D-idol smartphone game Ensemble Stars! has announced that its highly-anticipated TV anime project is once again in production.

In the game, the player takes the role of a transfer student at the private Yumenosaki Academy, where they become a part of the brand-new ‘Production Department’. The player now has to produce the idol boys of the school so that they can become top idols.

An anime adaptation of the game was announced during a Nico Nico Live broadcast back in December 2015, but the anime was then postponed. During the February broadcast of the monthly Ensemble Stars Radio, they announced that the anime is now back in production.

With the re-start, it has been announced that the game’s main scenario-writer, Akira, who pens most of the game’s stories, will also be in charge of the series composition. I am in charge of the series composition for the anime adaptation of Ensemble Stars. Since I do not have any experience in that field, I thought “No~ Don’t ask so much of me~”, but… Until now, the company was unable to find something satisfactory, so everything came back full circle and the torch was passed onto me. If nobody else can do it, then it can’t be helped. But when I started Ensemble Stars, I didn’t actually have experience in games aimed at a female audience, anyway. It is a franchise I have to thank for making me experience so many ‘first times’. Ah~, I really appreciate it.
