2018 is almost out, guys and girls, and that means that another anime year is ready to take its place.
It has been revealed that Dumbbell Nan Kilo Moteru? (How Many Kilos are the Dumbbells You Lift?) will be getting an anime adaptation! The manga by Sandrovich Yabako (story) and MAAM (art) is currently being serialized on Shogakukan’s manga app Manga One and tells the story of Hibiki Sakura, who joins a gym after realizing that her love for food is also slowly expanding her waist. The series will air in Summer 2019.
The series will be directed by Mitsue Yamazaki (Tada Doesn’t Fall in Love) with character design by Ai Kikuchi (NEW GAME!). The series composition and screenplay will be written Fumihiko Shimo. The anime will be produced by Doga Kobo. The heroine Hibiki will be voiced by Ai Fairouz and Akemi Souryuuin will be voiced by Sora Amamiya.
‘Hibiki… Did you gain weight again?’
The high school student Hibiki Sakura loves to eat and the cruel words of her friend pierced her heart. Hibiki sets her mind to lose weight during the summer holidays but soon realizes that she won’t continue to exercise on her own. It’s then that Hibiki finds herself at a fitness center! When she finishes signing up, she finds out that the beautiful and charismatic student council president Akemi Souryuuin is also a member of the gym and will guide her deeper into the world of muscle training…
