Takunomi is an upcoming anime about young women who live together in a shared house and enjoy a bit of tipple now and again. The word ‘takunomi’ means ‘drinking at home’ in Japanese, which gives a big clue as to the show’s content.

This new trailer introduces us not just to the characters but to their voices too! Check below the video to the introductions to the characters! The main cast consists of Ayaka Imamura as the recently come-of-age Michiru Amatsuki, Chika Anzai as the fun-loving Nao Kiriyama, Mikako Komatsu as the mature and beautiful Kae Midorikawa, and Maaya Uchida as the university student Makoto Kiriyama.

The PV begins with a public notice that says, ‘Underage drinking is against the law. Let’s enjoy alcohol after you turn 20’ [NB: the drinking age in Japan is 20 years of age.]

We are then introduced to the four main characters:

Michiru Amatsuki

‘I’m Michiru Amatsuki, I’m 20! I always looked up the city so I moved to Tokyo from Okayama. I work in the business department of a start-up company. I’m still learning about alcohol. Please be kind!’

Nao Kiriyama

‘I’m Nao Kiriyamaaa, I’m twenty siiix! I work for an apparel company. I love fashion and alcohol! My favorite is beer~! Let’s have fu~n!’

Kae Midorikawa

‘I’m Kae Midorikawa, I’m 27. I work as a wedding planner. I like to cook, so when I have time I cook dinner for everyone. My favorite alcohol is wine.’

Makoto Kiriyama

‘I’m Makoto Kiriyama, 21 years old. I’m a 3rd year at university. I have a part-time job at a cafe. I like sweet cocktails- the fizziness is refreshing. Please be kind to me.’
