Dr. Stone will be getting a TV anime adaptation in July 2019! The popular manga is written by Riichiro Inagaki and illustrated by Boichi. It is currently being serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump and reached second place in the Tsugi ni Kuru Manga Taisho 2018 (Next Popular Manga Award 2018).
In this story we follow Senku, a 16-year-old boy with a superhuman brain. He finds himself in a desperate situation and decides that he will use his knowledge of science to create civilisation from scratch. 2 million years of science from the stone ages until the modern times will make sure this is an incomparable adventure.
The series launched its teaser website and Twitter accounts and it has been announced that Yusuke Kobayashi will voice the main character Senku, who wakes up after thousands of years petrified and encased in stone.
All of humankind has been petrified within a single moment for thousands of years because of a mysterious phenomenon. Then a boy called Senku, who has a superhuman brain and likes science, wakes up.
‘From the Stone Age to the modern times, I will make sure humanity will rise past these 2 million years of science!’
Senku decides to look for other people and revive humanity in this desperate situation!
