Gosho Aoyama’s Detective Conan, which is being serialized in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday, is going on a temporary hiatus after the latest chapter. The 3rd and 4th combined issue of Weekly Shonen Sunday revealed the news on 13 December 2017.
The same issue included a handwritten note by Gosho Aoyama. His reason for the long break was said to be ‘for medical treatment and to recharge’, but Aoyama wrote ‘I will take a break so please wait a bit~’ and he stated ‘I may begin to play Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp… (laugh)’ The magazine will announce the return of Conan as soon as it has been decided. Detective Conan‘s 94th volume will be released as planned on 18 December 2017.
Furthermore, this issue reveals the identity of Black Organisation’s ‘that person’. The manga also includes a video of Aoyama drawing, which is viewable via a manga application called Sunday Webry. This is the first time that the magazine publishes a drawing video. The preview video can be seen on YouTube.
An interview about ‘that person’ has also been published exclusively to the Sunday Webry app. As a special to the fans, all Detective Conan manga episodes can be read online via Sunday Webry for free, but only for 24 hours, on 13 December (JST).
