Earlier this month, from March 5th to March 9th, the folks over at Anime! Anime! conducted a survey about the 2016 spring anime season. Respondents were asked what new anime series they are most looking forward to watching this coming spring.
As the winter season comes to a close, the most anticipated series for this spring season were gathered. The poll had a final total of 495 responses. The top ten responses follow:
First place: Bungo Stray Dogs. Jojo’s 4th arc follows.
Coming in first place was Bungo Stray Dogs. The anime, based on a manga originally published in Kadokawa’s manga-zine “Young Ace,” features two Japanese literary giants, Dazai Osamu and Akutagawa Ryunosuke, as they use superpowers to do battle.
Bungo Stray Dogs also came in 6th place in our own poll asking which AnimeJapan 2016 exhibitions you were most interested in. Evidently this series is gathering some significant interest.
Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond Is Unbreakable comes in second place. The fourth story arc of this series hits the screen for the first time, and is evidently also gaining a lot of attention. Tied for second place is an upcoming anime based on the light novel I Thought My Online Game Wife Wasn’t A Girl?
Fourth place also featured a tie, this time between a Magi spinoff Adventure of Sinbad, and the new Macross series Macross Delta. In among a large group of animes based on manga, Kiznaiver is the lone original title.
