Fanworks (Hagane Orchestra) have announced that they are to produce the TV anime Ani ni Tsukeru Kusuri wa Nai, which will air from 7 April 2017. It’s an anime adaption of a Chinese manga that has been viewed over 500 million times in China alone. It’s the story about a violent younger sister that has to kick her stupid older brother from time to time. The story includes themes like family, food, and love; everything a great school comedy needs.
The scriptwriter and director will be Rareko (Yawaraka Sensha, Medamayaki no Kimi Itsu Tsubusu?, etc.). The theme song Sunny Side Up will be sung by the rock band Brian the Sun, who gained attention after their major debut in 2016 and for their songs in Boku no Hero Academia and Sweetness and Lightning.
Yuichi Nakamaru will voice Shi Fen and Sora Amamiya was cast for the role of Shi Miao. The love interest of Shi Miao, Kai Xin, will be voiced by Kensho Ono. Since this is a work from China, it will be interesting to see how this comedy will turn out.
Ani ni Tsukeru Kusuri wa Nai will air from 7 April 2017 on TOKYO MX1. It is also scheduled to air in China from March.
