Tokyo Ghoul will be getting a new stage play adaptation in Summer 2017. As it was announced in the magazine Weekly Young Jump, the main role of Ken Kaneki was given to actor Ryou Matsuda.

And now, the visuals of Matsuda as Ken Kaneki have been released!
The original dark fantasy manga was serialized in Weekly Young Jump (Shueisha) from September 2011 until September 2014. The sequel, Tokyo Ghoul:re, has been publishing since October 2014. The manga volumes have over 22,000,000 copies in circulation (as of March 2017) with a wide age range of readers. An anime adaptation aired from July to September 2014 (Season 1) and the second season, Tokyo Ghoul √A (root A), aired from January to March 2015.
The stage version of Tokyo Ghoul was performed in Tokyo and Kyoto in July 2015 and was praised for the excellent recreation of the Tokyo Ghoul world. We are looking forward to what kind of worldview will be presented this time!
