Kohei Kadono’s Boogiepop wa Warawanai has announced that the anime adaptation of the light novel will start airing in January 2019.
The series has also updated the website with a teaser visual, which was shown during the Dengeki Bunko Spring Festival 2018 in March. The teaser has everything, from fantastic music to people bustling in the background. We also get to see Toka Miyashita as well as a fighting scene of Nagi Kirima.
Voice actresses Aoi Yuki (voice of Boogiepop/Toka Miyashita) and Saori Onishi (voice of Nagi Kirima) will make a guest appearance at the Dengeki Bunko 25th Anniversary Autumn Festival on 7 October 2018. You can apply for tickets and learn more details about the event through the Kadokawa app.
The light novel of Boogiepop wa Warawanai is Kadono’s debut work and received the main prize of the 4th Dengeki Game Novel Awards. The story centers around the character Toka Miyashita who possesses a split personality called Boogiepop to fight the ‘enemies of the world’.
Naoki Koshimizu’s Boogiepop wa Warwanai VS Imaginator is currently being serialized in the Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh and Yoshihiro Kawabata’s Yoake no Boogiepop is currently being serialized in Dengeki G’s Comic.
