BLAME! revealed a few additional cast member as well as the bonus presents for the ticket preorders! The anime movie will be shown for a brief 2 week period starting 20 May 2017.
BLAME! was originally serialized in Kodansha’s Afternoon from 1997 to 2003 and is the debut manga of Tsutomu Nihei, who won an award at the 39th Kodansha Manga Awards for Knights of Sidonia. Director of the movie is Hiroyuki Seshita (Ajin, Knights of Sidonia) and the studio will be Polygon Pictures (Transformers: Prime). This anime will be the first to use the Dolby Atmos. The staff of Knights of Sidonia came together again, to make a completely new story with the support and input of Tsutomu Nihei.
Sanakan, one of the best safeguards, will be voiced by Saori Hayami. Blame! takes place in a continuously growing huge city, which ceases to function correctly and grows disorganized due to the technology improving on its own. Humans have lost control of technology and end up being hunted down and killed by a system called ‘Safeguard.’ The top class safeguards have very good combat skills. The sight of them finding and eliminating humans is scary, yet beautiful.
We are the safeguard, who will eliminate you who do not have any net terminal genes.
They will be available from 1 April (1,500 yen including tax). They will come with a 1:35 scaled safeguard type-01 figure.
Safeguards have long limbs, to be able to hunt and kill humans. Their stance is oddly familiar. It looks like the starting pose of a sprinter, as if they are ready to jump at you anytime!
