Girly Air Force, which is being published in Kadokawa’s Dengeki Bunko, will get an anime adaptation! The visual shows protagonist Kei Narutani who longs to fly in the sky, together with Gripen, a girl who operates fighter jets called ‘Daughters’ and is thus an ‘Anima’. We also have comments from the author Koji Natsumi and illustrator Asagi Tosaka.
Girly Air Force is a story in which beautiful girls pilot fighter jets, as they face the mysterious flying objects called ‘Zai’, who are endangering mankind. Kei once sees a shining, red fighter aircraft and when he runs after it, it turns out it was an Anima named Gripen. Like this, the story of a girl that is the trump card of mankind and a boy who wants to fly in the sky begins.
The animation studio will be Satelight, who also worked on Macross Delta and Symphogear.
Natsumi said about the anime adaptation of Girly Air Force, ‘I am really happy that it will be turned into an anime since I started to write the novel because I really like fighter aircraft. I am looking forward to seeing the Anima and Daughters moving!
Tosaka has been working on the series for four years and said, ‘When I was first told that the story would get an anime adaptation, I didn’t quite react and it only sank in slowly [laugh]. My chest is tight with expectations about how the battle scenes will be shown and how Gripen and the others will look when they move.’
The official website and Twitter for the anime have also been opened. Look forward to more information about this series!
