The novel Basilisk: The Ouka Ninja Scrolls (Basilisk: Ouka Ninpouchou) by Masaki Yamada will get an anime adaptation!
Yamada wrote it as a sequel to the 1958 novel Kouga Ninpouchou (The Kouga Ninja Scrolls) by Futaro Yamada, well known for his Ninpouchou series. Manga author Masaki Segawa wrote a manga adaptation of the original Koga Ninpochou under the title Basilisk: The Kouga Ninja Scrolls (Basilisk; Kouga Nippouchou) in Young Magazine. The manga has 5 volumes and has sold over 1.7 million copies. A TV anime was aired in 2005 that is still popular today. A new serialization has been decided to start in this month’s Young Magazine No. 34, coming out on 24 July 2017.
In The Kouga Ninja Scrolls, 10 ninja of the Kouga clan face 10 ninja of the Iga clan to decide which clan would succeed the Tokugawa family and reign for the next 1,000 years. The story continues in The Ouka Ninja Scrolls, set 10 years after the war. A first visual has been revealed for the anime adaptation, showing Hachiro Koga and Hibiki Iga. What does their destiny have prepared for them?
