Harucon 2019 opened its doors in Austria’s Klagenfurt (Carinthia) for the third time from 11 to 12 May 2019. Around 1,500 attendees (eSports’ gamers, cosplayers, anime-fans, Japan-lovers, and more) spent a great weekend at Hall 5 and the convention terrain. The first years of Harucon were primarily based on Japanese culture, which changed this year, as Harucon 2019 has broaden its program.
One could enjoy various games at the Gaming-Area, but also participate in about 10 eSports events, organized by the association CEGA. Professional cosplayers demonstrated their works on stage and held workshops to pass some tips and tricks on to new cosplayers.
The shops on-site provided the attendees with some great and rare American and Japanese items. Gilead were at Harucon 2019 to introduce visitors to different games such as tabletop roleplaying and LARPing in a spaceship.
Harucon is being organized by the Klagenfurter Jugendkulturzentrum, a youth culture center that offers young people a place to have fun, provides space for events, and even educates interested groups in cooking and much more.
MANGA.TOKYO and Otsukai are proud to have sponsored this fantastic event along with A1, Kärntner Sparkasse and Tommy B. Stone and hope to be part of the convention with a booth at Harucon 2020!
