Kenta Shinohara’s Astra Lost in Space (Kanata no Astra) will get an anime adaptation! The series was nominated for the Manga Awards 2019 and it ranked in third place in the male-category of the Kono Manga wa Sugoi! 2019 (This manga is great!) ranking.
A first teaser visual has been revealed along with the main staff. Shinohara has also drawn a celebratory picture for the anime and written a comment in which he talks about how the series is different to his previous work Sket Dance but also the same in the way that it is a bit of a hodgepodge of different genres. He calls it a School-Science-Fiction-Mystery-Love-Comedy manga. He is also working on the anime by checking the scenario and drawings. He also mentions that this is the chance for everybody who hasn’t read the manga yet to simply watch the anime when it comes out and to experience the story (and after that they can buy the manga). If he could, he would delete his memory of the manga and watch it with everybody.
This is the near future when living in space has become normal. There are nine boys and girls on their way to a star camp. While their chest tightens in excitement before their first space travel, an unexpected situation comes up!
