Anime NYC 2018, an anime convention held in New York City and powered by Crunchyroll, has announced that Anisong World Matsuri will be making its New York City debut from 16 to 17 November 2018.
Anisong World Matsuri was launched in 2016 and has already covered cities such as Los Angeles, Shanghai, and Washington DC. The event is a partnership between leading Japanese entertainment companies, such as BANDAI NAMCO Arts, Inc., Amuse, Inc., and Sony Music Entertainment, Inc. to give overseas’ fans of anime songs (anisong) the chance to go to Japanese pop concerts.
The well-known performers in New York are Konomi Suzuki (‘Redo’ from Re:ZERO), TRUE (Violet Evergarden, Sound Euphonium, and Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans), Luna Haruna (Sword Art Online, Fate/Zero, Monogatari), Hironobu Kageyama (‘Cha-La Head-Cha-La’ from Dragon Ball Z), Hiroshi Kitadani (‘We Are!’ from One Piece), Shoko Nakagawa (‘Sorairo Days’ from Gurren Lagann), Morning Musume。’18 and more!
