22/7 (Read: Nanabun no Nijuuni) is a new idol group that was created with the concept of ‘crossing dimensions.’ The two dimensions are of course the 2D and the real life. They are going to be producing music and performing as idols on stage but they will also voice characters in an anime, which they will play on stage as well. They were put together through an audition and have a total of 11 members, but so far only 8 anime characters have been revealed.
At this point, 22/7 have released illustrations by Yukiko Horiguchi. They will be used as the cover image for their debut single ‘Boku wa Sonzai Shiteinakatta’. They also released a short music video with the lyrics, which shows how the girls become anime characters. A full version of this video will be included in the type A edition of the CD. The regular music video will be animated by Tatsunoko Production (known for King of Prism -Pride the Hero-), and the director will be Ryo Ando. The group is being produced by Yasushi Akimoto, most well-known producing the AKB48 franchise.
The official website of the group was also renewed with a ‘Boku no Sonzai Shiteinakatta’ version design, so maybe you want to check it out!
