The popup store SuperGroupies will sell limited items from Touken Ranbu –ONLINE-, the popular simulation game featuring anthropomorphic Japanese swords. The popup store will open at Seibu Ikebukuro Main Branch, Tokyo for a limited period from January 25 to January 31, 2017.
The selection will include unique kyo yuzen (a special fabric dyeing technique from Kyoto) kimono with Mikazuki Munechika and Kashu Kiyomitsu designs. They were created by traditional craftsmen and went through over 10 processes including drafting, coloring, and embroidering. The Mikazuki Munechika model expresses a flowing stream and cherry blossoms with a saya pattern on a blue background, which is the same pattern as seen on his design from the game. Also, the Kiyomitsu Kashu model has a modern feeling to it with a diamond pattern and also includes geranium designs, which is the birth flower of Soji Okita.
At the popup store fans can reserve small Japanese accessories that use the patterns from the two kimono designs. Items include hair ornaments, ornamental hairpins, sash bands, geta, silk wrapping cloth, and basket bags. Reservations will also become available at the SouperGroupies online shop Omuni 7 from January 25.
