It is a few weeks after the battle with the Entente Alliance. Tanya’s exploits have bought her praise and recognition as a great military mage. Still a young child, Tanya is assigned the Tactical Training Department. Her elation at coming close to the safe life away from the front lines that she had hoped for is short-lived, as she is assigned as a test subject for a dangerous new Operation Orb. The product she has been sent out to test is highly unstable and the tests continue to fail.
The Chief Engineer Schugel is a mad scientist who holds no qualms in sacrificing human subjects for the sake of scientific development. Tanya’s requests to stop the experiments fall on deaf ears and tests continue with a complete and utter disregard for health and safety.
Tanya’s life is soon at risk. Feeling in danger, she decides to submit a transfer request.
It is the year 1924 of the United Calendar. The battles continue with the Allied Army in the north and the Republic Army in the west. However, Tanya is happily enrolling as a student at the Military Academy in the safety of the capital. Although it is the Military Academy, the treatment there is just like at a regular university. She even gets payment from the government. How lucky!
Tanya utilises her previous knowledge and her principles of efficiency to perform well both academically and practically, earning a lot of respect from her teachers and classmates.
Meanwhile, the General Staff Office are hurrying to sent reinforcement to the west, where it seems the area army is about to be crushed thanks to an invasion from the Republic Army. As the poor prospects of military district become clear, the second Chief of Staff, Zettour, suggests the creation of a new reinforcement corps.
At the front of the line, a few days after the siege. The imperial army, who defeated the enemy’s main force, immediately took over the control of the capital, Parisee. Finally, a great victory. Tanya was pleased with the peaceful life that finally reached the capital when news reached her that the navy is retreating. Tanya pretends not to know that General De Lugo is giving up the mainland and seemingly try to flee with a part of the rebellion to the south and instead decides to start an attack on her own. But before she could start it, a cease-fire was ordered by the headquarters. The battalion is enjoying the brief break but Tanya, overwhelmed by disappointment because she has missed a chance to end the war, caves in and later heads to the headquarters.
